irony observance

I am on a deadline here. My wife says that I have between 12 and 24 hours to post this observance or she would blog about this, but you wouldn't believe her because there wasn't a picture to back it up.

Tonight we were eating dinner with two great friends at a local Mexican restaurant. The staff was predominantly Mexican.

Except the bus boy, who was white.

Go across the street to one of the many other restaurants and the situation probably would have been reversed, so it was strangely appropriate that this young white American was clearing tables at the Mexican restaurant.

In my nearly ten years in the restaurant business it was very common to have other ethnic groups represented in either the kitchen or to help bus tables. It was great ministry to the nations. Men and women from closed countries working with us, open to hear the Gospel. Almost every single employee was hard working, punctual and multi-lingual. I wonder if the same will be said about the young man at El Toro tonight.

Either way, it made me laugh out loud to see this kid working tonight...
